Session 04
Wychwood Expedition

Session starts on the 16th day of the 6th month.

Upon arriving in Ornesse Farooq Iz-Udin informs the heroes of a commission from Zane Ru involving an expedition into the Agrhari Marshlands to recover the Sceptre of Agrhari. The heroes accept to protect Farooq on the expedition in exchange for 5000 GP upon their return. They are also introduced to Tetsami ‘Aki’ Akalin, an old aquaintance of Nox Gray who joins the party.

The heroes proceed from Ornesse via Wildegarde where they pick up a tracker for their expedition through Wychwood. They then charter a boat to take them to the mouth of the Wych River where they continue on foot along the river into the forest.

While caught in a pocket of the shadowfel within Wychwood, almost all of the heroes and Farooq Iz-Udin are killed by vile, living plants. Nox Gray manages to escape and makes contact with Matabei via the scrying eye he is carrying. Matabei manages to perform a teleportation ritual through the eye to transport Nox out of the Wychwood back to Vertisse.

Session end on the 24th day of the 6th month.

Session 03

Session starts on the 11th day of the 6th month.

The next morning, the party decides to spend some of their money on upgrading their quipment while Nox Gray makes contact with his informant in the “underworld”.

He is offered an easy job where all the party needs to do is act as lookouts while others perform a “heist” in one of the houses in The Markets, paying 200GP for the trouble. They decide to take the offer.

They also meet Farooq Iz-Udin as he is pulling down his market stall. He informs them of the lack of opportunities for him and that he intends to seek his fortune in Ornesse as soon as he is able.

:Sidenote: Nox pickpockets a note from Farooq, though he has yet to decipher its writing.

Come late evening, the party stands lookout though Tarak voices his concerns for working with these shady individuals. Nothing of notice happens and they recieve their 200GP when their employers exit has finished the “heist”. Their employers mention their satisfaction and invites the party to attend a rally on the evening of the next day, taking place in a warehouse in the Shades.

As the party rests for the night, they are assaulted by assassins in their rooms. They survive and manages to interrogate the leader Jill who divulges their reason for attempting to kill the party is due to their supposed alliance with Zane Ru. They manage to convince her of their innocense to such an extent that she divulges what her allies percieve as Zane´s plan: That he intends to use the items he has procured to form a pact with a powerful extraplanar being to become able to mend the tear between worlds that is Wychwood. While this is a commendable plan, Jill´s associates do not believe in the benevolent nature of the entity whom Zane will commune. The party releases Jill on the agreement they will no longer assist Zane on pain of making an enemy of Jill and her associates.

Come next morning, the party decides to not attend the evenings rally, but opts instead to follow Farooq and protect him on his way to Ornesse. They offer their services free as Farooq did not intend to hire them.

On the road, as they rest for the night after their first day of travel toward Pilgrims Penny Inn they see the skyline of Vertisse light up as if the city is burning.

When they reach The Pilgrims Penny Inn they see a garrison of soldiers arriving. Speaking with the Captain, he explains to them that Vertisse is now in a state of anarchy as of last night and Ornesse has sent out a garrison to quell this uprising. They have a chat with the Captain and informs him of the rotten state of corruption in Vertisse and warns him that quelling the populace with violence will result in many unjust, civilian lives as the population might not be to blame for this turn of events. The Captain seems to take this to heart.

On the road from The Pilgrims Penny Inn the heroes are ambushed by highwaymen and Brother Frost is killed in action, protecting Farooq Iz-Udin and the other heroes.

Session ends on the 15th day of the sixth month.

Session 02

The Session starts on the 8th day of 6th month.

The heroes manage to defeat the supposed thieves and question the Half-Orc leader about the amulet they are looking for. He tells them it has been sold to a fence who just left their camp a few hours before the heroes arrived, travelling with a cart and two bodyguards towards the The Pilgrims Penny Inn and likely onward to Ornesse.

Nox Gray forces the Half-Orc (Named Jerag) into servitude in exchange for his life and they finish their rest before taking off in pursuit of the fence.

About halfway to The Pilgrims Penny Inn they find the cart overturned and the pummeled corpse of one of the bodyguards. The other bodyguard and the fence is no present but bloody tracks lead into the forest.

Tarak decides to move ahead of the party and finds the half-eaten corpse of the other bodyguard further into the forest. He gets ambushed by giant centipedes though, and is killed. He manages to alert the party and they kill the centipedes and retrieves his corpse and take it back to Vertisse for resurrection. In Vertisse they purchase the reagents needed for the ritual and contracts a priest in The Shades they have talked to before.

:Sidenote: The priest lets slip that his chapel is also used as a meeting spot for the thieves guild.

After the ressurrection, the heroes retrace their steps and continue their pursuit of the fence, leading them further into the forest. They find his corpse and the amulet in the lair of a feral ogre which they dispatch without any real trouble, though when they exit the cave, they find that Jerag has fled, taking all their horses in the process.

:Sidenote: Both bodyguard as well as the fence share the same tatoo Mark on soldiers the heroes have seen previously.

When they return to Zane Ru with the amulet, they manage to haggle an additional reward in the form of a +1 Amulet of protection from him.

As the session ends, the players are heading to bed after handing over the amulet to Zane.
Session ends around 1 am. on the 11th day of the 6th month.

Session 01
Session Notes

The Campaign starts on the 5th day of the 6th month.

The players start in Wildegaarde where they overhear Farooq Iz-Udin having trouble with the guards because he is not allowed to bring his undead servants off the Galley. They contact him offering their services as escorts for the last leg of his journey to Vertisse agreeing on a price of 75 gold per person.

They find out that along with his other wares, Farooq Iz-Udin is also transporting an ornate box which doesn´t seem to open (no keyhole and it seems stuck shut). Farooq Iz-Udin doesn´t seem to know the contents of the box either, though he impresses that he has gone through alot to aquire this box and that the sale of this will sow the seed for his dreams of a future success.

While staying overnight at the Holy Traveller Inn Nox manages to steal a piece of glassware from Farooq´s cart while he is trying to gain more information on him.

Approaching Vertisse the cart is ambushed by crossbowmen and it is revealed that some of the other guard hired by Farooq Iz-Udin are allied with these ambushers, killing the other guards before the players manage to defeat them. During the fighting, one of the ambushers manage to escape. The players find a tattoo shared by all of the attackers Mark on soldiers. Farooq Iz-Udin doesn´t seem to know anything about the mark.

Upon reaching Vertisse, Farooq Iz-Udin manages to deliver the box to Zane Ru while putting in a good word for the players to him. After the trade, Farooq Iz-Udin has enough money to aquire himself a shop but sets up a stall at the main marketplace for starters, since he isn´t sure if Vertisse suits him.

Later that night, Zane Ru approaches the players, asking them to recover a copper amulet for him that has been stolen. The players do not seem to trust his motives when he tells them that this amulet is of emotional value only.

The players agree upon four horses in payment for this job, which is given to them straight away so they might faster catch up with the thieves.

The players find what they expect are the thieves in the middle of the night, holed up in the ruins of a burnt down farmhouse. Baern and Brother Frost approach to talk to them while Nox Gray and Tarak sneak around the perimeter.

As the session ends, Tarak is attempting to quietly assassinate the lookout, located some 50 meters away from the farmhouse. It is about 3 AM on the third day of the adventure.
